ISTQB® CTAL – Test Analyst 4.0

Who is this seminar for?

You work in projects as a tester, test analyst or quality assurance specialist and have already successfully completed the ISTQB® Foundation Level. You want to systematically expand your specialist test design, derive complex test case scenarios in a structured way and test quality characteristics in a targeted manner.

Prerequisites

For the certification exam, ISTQB® requires a valid Foundation Level certificate as well as at least 18 months of practical experience in software testing. For seminar attendance we recommend the same level – the content builds directly on Foundation-level knowledge.

Content per syllabus 4.0

• Tasks of the Test Analyst in the test process: test analysis, test design, test implementation and test execution in the project context
• Black-box test design techniques: equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, decision tables, state-based testing, use-case-based testing, combinatorial techniques
• Experience-based testing: error guessing, exploratory testing, checklist-based testing, application-oriented tests
• Testing software quality characteristics: functionality, usability, portability, compatibility, reliability per ISO 25010
• Reviews: tasks of the Test Analyst in reviews, applying typical checklists
• Defect management: structure of a defect report, classification, lifecycle of a defect
• Test tools: tools for test analysis, test design, test data, test execution
