Who is this seminar for?
You work as a tester, test manager, test automation engineer or QA lead and want to understand how generative AI can be integrated into your day-to-day testing in a useful, transparent and compliant way. Prior knowledge of software testing (at least at Foundation Level) is helpful, but not a formal entry requirement.
Prerequisites
For the ISTQB® certification exam, the ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level certificate is mandatory – without this proof you cannot register for the exam. It is not strictly required in order to attend the seminar itself, but it is strongly recommended. Programming skills are not required; a basic understanding of AI concepts makes it easier to get started.

- Fundamentals of generative AI: how large language models work, prompt engineering, hallucinations, non-deterministic behaviour and how to mitigate it
- Application areas in software testing: test analysis, test case derivation, test data generation, test automation scripts, reviews, documentation
- Quality and risks of GenAI output: bias, data protection, plausibility checks, verification
- Prompt engineering for testers: structured prompts, context windows, few-shot patterns, reproducibility
- RAG and LLM agents in a testing context: retrieval-augmented generation, agent workflows and their limits for testing tasks
- Fine-tuning, LLMOps and operations: when fine-tuning pays off, running and monitoring LLM applications in the enterprise
- Model selection and governance: choosing between LLMs and SLMs, dealing with shadow AI, copyright and licensing questions, internal guidelines
- Resources and energy: energy and resource consumption of generative AI and what it means for adoption
- Governance & compliance: EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, internal guidelines for GenAI use in QA processes
- Hands-on exercises: prompt catalogues, evaluating tool output, building a reusable GenAI library within the test team

Catering & materials
Training materials and practice cases are included in the price; during the seminar you build your own prompt library. For preparation we use the publicly available ISTQB® sample exam. For on-site seminars we provide hot and cold drinks as well as snacks in the morning and afternoon. Online webinars run synchronously in a virtual classroom with live trainer interaction.

Exam & certification
The certification exam is optional. If you book it, you sit it on the third seminar day from 13:00 – no separate appointment needed. It comprises 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes; the pass mark is 26 out of 40 points. Participants not sitting the exam in their native language receive a 25 % time allowance. The exam runs through the accredited exam organisation GASQ – €250 plus VAT, regardless of exam language. The fee can be added during booking. Registration for the exam requires a valid ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level certificate. There is no formal entry requirement for attending the seminar itself.
Frequently asked questions about CT-GenAI
Do I need the CTFL certificate for CT-GenAI?
Not for the seminar – there is no formal entry requirement. For the certification exam, a valid ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level certificate is mandatory.
What is the difference between CT-AI and CT-GenAI?
CT-AI covers testing AI-based systems; CT-GenAI takes the opposite view: using generative AI as a tool in the test process. In detail: CT-AI vs. CT-GenAI compared.
In which cities does the seminar take place?
The on-site cities change every six months – the current list is at the top of this page. Online dates run in the virtual classroom and can be booked from anywhere in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
In which language are the seminar and the exam held?
Each seminar date is delivered in German or English. The exam through GASQ can be taken in German or English regardless of the seminar language; the fee of €250 plus VAT is the same in both cases.
Is Loyal Team accredited for CT-GenAI?
Yes. Since October 2026 we have been accredited by the German Testing Board (GTB) for ISTQB® CT-GenAI, for German-language training. English-language dates are delivered together with trendig and brightest.
What is the exact name: CT-GenAI, CT Generative AI or Certified Tester Generative AI?
All the same module: ISTQB® Certified Tester – Testing with Generative AI, short form CT-GenAI. Searches and job adverts also use “CT Generative AI”, “CT GenAI”, “ISTQB GenAI” or “GenAI tester”. Not to be confused with ISTQB® CT-AI, which covers testing AI-based systems.
Do I sit the CT-GenAI exam with GASQ or with iSQI?
We organise the exam via GASQ: €250 plus VAT, in German or English, on the third seminar day. Other ISTQB® exam providers such as iSQI also offer the CT-GenAI exam; you can book an iSQI exam independently of the seminar, the ISTQB® certification is the same.
