Who is this course for?
This seminar is aimed at everyone who develops, tests or accepts software systems – that is, testers, test managers and test automation engineers, load and performance testers, agile and mobile testers as well as project managers, quality managers and developers. No prior knowledge is required.
What's in it for you?
After completing this seminar, you will know and be able to apply all process steps of software testing – from planning through control, execution, analysis and logging to creating clear defect reports. You will master the common, globally understood terminology and the established standards of software testing. You will be able to analyse and prioritise functional and non-functional specifications independently. - Fundamentals of testing: what testing is and why it is necessary, testing principles, test activities, testware and roles, essential skills and the whole-team approach
- Testing throughout the software development lifecycle: development models, shift-left, test levels and test types, maintenance testing
- Static testing: fundamentals, feedback and review process, roles and review types
- Test analysis and design: overview of test techniques, black-box techniques (equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, decision tables, state transitions), white-box techniques (statement and branch coverage), experience-based techniques and collaboration-based approaches (user stories, acceptance criteria, ATDD)
- Managing the test activities: test planning and estimation, risk management, test monitoring, control and completion, configuration management, defect management
- Test tools: tool support for testing, benefits and risks of test automation
